My Style, My Way

They days of wearing blazers outdoors are very numbered in Dubai with temperatures hovering around the mid-30′s after a week of red sand filled skies. A longtime fan of silver, finding the ideal shoe style in this colour has been quite the challenge, the internet has been trawled, Dubai Mall paced and finally these beauties popped in everyone’s favourite Spanish retailer Zara during the week. Paired with a mix of texture and colour,a true Classic with Colour outfit, I may have found my new perfect heel height (for daytime, of course!).

A new year, a new us…

With very little activity over recent months on our Dubai/Dublin based fashion blog, Classic with Colour, for various reasons (and well justified ones too!) we have made a few small changes to how we look and what we will share!
The foundation of the site, the reason we set it up, our passion, will still be young educated, talented, hungry and ambitious designers in Dubai and Dublin and anyone we pick up along the way.
Living in two different cities, on two different adventures, you will see us share things from fashion and lifestyle events with some of Rachel’s favourite brands in …

Capturing street style and outfit posts is a task that takes more time than most readers appreciate. Enjoying the luxury of a photographer who can capture your outfit is not something all bloggers have, the challenge taking your own images is one that deserves great respect.
Fustany.com, an online fashion destination in the Middle East recently asked me to share some outfits with them for the relaunch of their website, which is available in Arabic and English. For the first instalments is a relaxed outfit to tackle shopping and the unpredictable climates in Dubai’s malls. A fan of statement t-shirts, FML are a …

Monochrome outfits are classic no matter what way they are worn. Whether a black sharp tailored suit and a traditional white shirt, a black and white striped dress or a busy printed trousers. With a well known love of Irish designers and the original celebrity shoe designer, Terry de Havilland, adding these two to the mix was sure to put some colour into this classic look.
Terry de Havilland’s Margeaux wedges are without a doubt the most beautiful wedge to invest in and a sheer joy to wear day in, day out. Irish Designer Joanne Hynes is renowned for her accessories …

With the intention of doing 7 days of style during the trip home to Ireland, it became quite evident that posting them to Classic with Colour would not be in 7 consecutive days! A trip home is never quite a holiday in the traditional sense of the word with various lunch and coffee dates, visits to family and friends and just catching up on simple things at home. Working your way through 8 months of Irish fashion publications is quite the challenge!
One thing Dubai will never have is lush, rolling green country side. So on a trip out to Horetown …

My Style, My Way

Horrendous rain, storms and winds were forecast for yesterday and in true fashion arrived last night and continued throughout today. Planning on sharing 7 days of style, a trip to Ireland is never one that is relaxing with a diary full of lunches, drinks, coffees and dinners. Not to complain, but time has a tendency to run away with itself. So we are a day behind posts!
Weather forecast in mind, I headed for some drinks with friends from Australia last night, going for casual and comfy. What…. one of my favourite pairs of shoes from Kurt Geiger teamed With… two tones of …

My Style, My Way

After flying home to Ireland yesterday from Dubai, stopping off in Avoca for some great Irish food, celebrating one of my 4 grandparents 85th birthday last night and a day catching up with family, time finally allowed to take out the camera and have some fun shooting 7 days of style.
Leaving 46 degrees heat meant a greater need for jeans and blazers for protection from the elements though today saw a high of 20 degrees (all things being relative!) and warmer than I anticipated! What…A Savida white shirt, Ann Taylor striped jumper, Splash necklace with denim jeans and Zara boots.
