DAS Collection

DAS Collection

DAS Collection embodies the UAE in so many different ways; how it empowers women of the region through their contemporary understanding of the traditional abaya, the talent that young Emirati’s have learned from their wise elders and how two ambitious young local ladies can build a successful internationally recognised brand. Reem and Hind Beljafla are true (fashion) ambassadors for the UAE.
Showing their Spring Summer ’13 collection at London Fashion Week, with modern day supermodel Alek Wek walking in the show, the latest collection from the Dubai duo offered metallic jewel tones in flowing silhouettes reminiscent of the Jalabiya dress complimented …

My Style, My Way

My Style, My Way

After flying home to Ireland yesterday from Dubai, stopping off in Avoca for some great Irish food, celebrating one of my 4 grandparents 85th birthday last night and a day catching up with family, time finally allowed to take out the camera and have some fun shooting 7 days of style.
Leaving 46 degrees heat meant a greater need for jeans and blazers for protection from the elements though today saw a high of 20 degrees (all things being relative!) and warmer than I anticipated! What…A Savida white shirt, Ann Taylor striped jumper, Splash necklace with denim jeans and Zara boots.

Ananasa

Ananasa

Ananasa is a company I heard about a few months back. To those in Ireland and Europe, they are the Etsy of the Middle East. Inspired by a quote their mother always told them growing up, Ananasa showcases a wide selection of hand-made pieces from the Gulf Region and Middle East. Jewellery, clothes, homewares to even edible products all handmade by artisans, artists and designers.

Having just come from MAKE ignition, an inspiring and motivational event from budding online entrepreneurs held this evening at MAKE Business Hub in Dubai Marina, Zeina and Rana of Ananasa spoke about their progress, …

Noosh is the colourful and feminine Dubai based brand by Noora Alikhan. We have already featured her SS12 collection earlier this year with fun and flirty dresses that are perfect for a girls day out or a romantic dinner for two. Recently, I was invited to take part in an afternoon of dressing up with Noosh as she creates a lookbook for ASOS Marketplace.

Noosh is the first fashion brand in the region to have a boutique on the wonderful worldwide online retailer ASOS Marketplace. With a host of other well known fashion bloggers, stylists and PR princesses …

What is inside our April GlamBox?

What is inside our April GlamBox?

Unlike cosmetic brands in Ireland and the UK who run special offers giving customers the opportunities to try the latest products with perfect sample size lotions and potions, it is one thing that is missed in the Gulf. Lovin My Bags

Lovin My Bags

Collecting handbags is just a thing most women do. Big, small. Leather, suede. Clutch, hold all. Tote, Satchel. Hobo, miniature. Having invested in a beautiful collection of bags over the years, they are all slowly but surely making their way finally to Dubai. The latest one to come join was my beloved Christian Dior Saddle Bag which was sadly left behind in Ireland for the last 2 years.

One bag which has been worth every single cent of the investment made in 2005, is a large nude leather Miu Miu handbag. It has served the purpose as a daily college …
