Poca & Poca

Poca & Poca

One of the joys that comes from fashion is the roles and characters you can play using clothes. You can portray a personality, an ethnic group or a lifestyle from what you wear and how you wear it. Undeniable girly and pretty, Poca & Poca and their latest collection allow you to have a ladylike innocence with their pretty collection of whites and pastels, bows and ballerinas.
Working on their brand since 2010, the brother sister team focus on attention to detail with branded buttons and pink stitching to creating a collection that is perfect for any grown princess. Spring Summer 13 has …

Reemami: AW Campaign

Reemami: AW Campaign

With photographs as quirky and eccentric as Reema Al Banna, the designer of Dubai based brand Reemami (a well known favourite of ours), her creativity knows no bounds. Collaborating with some of the new faces at Muse, a talent management agency in Dubai, the Swirl campaign featuring the Autumn Winter collection from Reemami’s latest designs narrates a story of aristocracy, glamour with a modern day swirl.
Featuring a collection of designs mixed with textures, patterns and her immeasurable creative flair, characterising the pieces with a backdrop of theatrics, the new faces from Muse compliment the fierce creations by Reemami.

Madiyah Al Sharqi

Just as young Irish designers are making their mark in the fashion industry on a global scale, Middle Eastern designers equally have volumes to offer. Looking locally at the United Arab Emirates, Madiyah Al Sharqi is a name which we heard over the last year and her credibility as a designer has been cemented with stockists including Sypmphony and Boutique 1, two of Dubai’s well renowned luxury fashion stores.
Madiyah Al Sharqi grew up with an appreciation for fine quality tailoring as daughter of the Ruler of Fujairah. Following a formal education with French fashion college, Esmod, her collection of fine …

Reemami AW12

Reemami AW12

A collection featuring an array of perfectly on trend jacquard and scarf prints with the quintessential quirky shapes and lines, Reemami’s latest collection for Autumn Winter is one of my favourites. Not afraid to offer a more artistic design on a traditional skirt or dress, her designs play with ladylike silhouettes from quirky fringing and embellishment to exaggerating detail in the waist and shoulders.
In true Reemami style, her campaigns are as quirky as the clothes themselves. Sharing an opinion that fashion is supposed to be an expression of yourself, your personality, mood and who you are as a person, this collection allows …

Located in the heart of Jumeirah, O Concept is a store which celebrates growing talent around the region. Celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadan, the store hosted a Pop-up Shop with a selection of local Dubai based designers and brands.
Amongst some of talent on show was Malaak, a long time favourite of ours. Appropriate for the Middle East as well as for the wardrobe of any serious fashion follower, her highly coveted turbans were absolutely beautiful, trimmed with studs and bows. Sugar Vintage t-shirts had the perfect mix of style and tradition with Paris Hilton donning some traditional Arabic accessories. Given …
