It’s that time of year – Graduate Fashion Shows and Presentations! These shows are run across the globe from our very own Limerick School of Art & Design to London’s prestigious Graduate Fashion Week to New York’s notorious Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons.
There’s is nothing better than creative Irish people in our eyes, so when we see these stars shining abroad – attention must be paid!
Last night in New York City, Parson’s MFA Graduate Sinead Lawlor impressed the industry giants such as Donna Karan, who is herself a Parsons Alum. Dubliner Sinead had done her initial BA in Fashion Design in Limerick School of Art & Design to then become part of the inaugural 18 students on the MFA course in Fashion Design and Society.
Sinead Lawlor’s womenswear collection went down a vivid, bold print route in primary colors like bright blue, yellow & red of digitially printed buttons.
Lawlor’s collection inspiration includes a color coded collection of buttons that a seamstress has gathered over the years. Sinead photographed them and embraced them in her digital printing onto her separate pieces.
