One of my favourite local designers in Dubai is Reema Al Banna. Her eclectic brand Reemami offers a chic yet quirky collaboration of prints, textures and designs. To showcase her latest AW12 collection, Reemami teamed up with Palestine Children’s Relief Programme to support and bring attention to this worthy cause. They aim to provide medical and humanitarian care for children in the Middle East.
As one of Dubai’s more relaxed events, there was so much to entertain before the latest designs walked the runway. Lollicups had the most adorable cupcakes on a stick (ideal to nibble on when balancing a glass and handbag!!) as well as Basma from B.Beautiful who re-created catwalk looks and Flashback who captured great video messages from Reemami and PCRP fans.
While our seat didn’t provide the greatest option for traditional runway shots, we did capture some stunning pieces just before they walked the runway.
Know for her quirky and funky designs, this piece of wearable art in the form of the tutu inspired upside down dress is one of Reema’s personal favourites and inspired her own dress on the night. Reemami will be sharing the full selection of looks from the event very soon and can’t wait till some of the dresses hit the stores!
