Coming from a family where the stack of British Vogue magazines stood taller than me as a five-year old, it was inevitable that I would grow up loving fashion.

Fashion and design is a way of life for my family, from pattern cutting taking over the sitting room floor to a room in our house in Ireland dedicated to fashion and design, called “The Sewing Room”. It is like Aladdin’s cave with vintage hand-made lace pieces to 80′s bridal inspired pearl beads, publications on interiors and construction to a box of drawings of designs my sister and I did and swapped with friends in primary school. There is fleece from Alaska, linen from Ireland and silk from China all carefully stacked in this room. It is the creative hub of our house.

My mother is a Grafton Academy graduate, spending her time doing custom-made pieces for clients as well as working on award-winning solo and group art shows. Following that, my sister graduated in Fashion from LSAD and has nurtured her love for NY since her first college trip there with internships and design roles with international brands.

All of these influences that surrounded me as I grew up have nurtured my love for fashion and everything that leads up to the finished item. Fabrics. Patterns. Construction. Trimmings. Inspiration. Creativity.

Team that with working 4 years working in an art shop and gallery surrounded by some of the most amazing Irish art works including Shawcross, O’ Neill, Gugi, Mulcahy, Lennon, Cope: my love for creativity grew.

While my courses in college were in business and retail management, I took creative options where possible from retail design to store environment, merging these passions together.

Moving to the UAE over 2 years ago, opened up a fantastic culture adventure which has led me around the Middle East, Far East and Asia to date. Observing, embracing and being inspired by the cultures, the fashions and lifestyles from this experience has been amazing and each day there is something new which inspires me.
