Imposter is one of the greatest inspiring initiatives in fashion recently.

Fashion and fur lovers alike are offered a socially conscious and responsible way to enjoy fur through the fantastic efforts of Jaclyn Sharp and Imposter. Imposter was founded through such a compelling story, well worth checking out.

Imposter is a for-benefit corporation in the USA, benefiting numerous animal charities and now has a wonderful following and support from celebrities as well. All products are made of high-end faux fur products, with 10% of online sales from Imposter being donated to saving animals.

There was a time that summer camps meant sailing courses for the month of July (some of my fondest memories), ballet camps with recitals for Mum’s and Dad’s at the end or sport camps with local champions at the near by pitch.
Fashion Club gives summer camp a whole new meaning and is the brain child of Irish Designer Mia O’ Connell.
It offers children a taste of the wonderful creative world of fashion offering courses in skirt making, bag design, t-shirt customisation as well as hats and head pieces.

The Best of Perfumes

In Dubai Marina Mall, another wonderful creation by the monstrous developers Emaar is a Perfume vending machine!!
It is the traditional vending machine offering a selection of fragrances for men and women, with samples on each side.


At 50dhs a pop, the equivalent to 10 euro I wasn’t expecting Chanel Chance but I have to admit some of the scents were actually okay!!
 

 S*uce is one of those fashion stores which everyone dreams of going into and buying everything you touch!!

It is one of my favourite shops in Dubai because it is the closest thing to stand alone boutiques which are a major part of European shopping.
While indulging myself in some window shopping yesterday I found the most beautiful beaded cuff by Dolores Petunia. It had the most beautiful encrusting of beads with a gorgeous black ribbon. There was a magnificent collection of cuffs and neck pieces, ranging from 1,000 dhs upwards!!

Olivia Palermo is the definition of high fashion meets high street.
She mixes Topshop with Thakoon, Cartier with Chloe in her fantastically personalised style. She is so chic, groomed and really knows how to put an outfit together as well as accessorize it!! She makes bold choices while looking effortlessly elegant.

Daphne Guinness is one of my ultimate style icons.

About four years ago, courtesy of The Sunday Times Style Lectures and Harvey Nichols Dublin, myself and my mum went to Daphne Guinness in conversation with Colin McDowell.
Guinness is so elegant, poised and yet can wear McQueen’s armadillo shoes like no-one else could. Her trade mark hair, custom-made Louboutin’s to give her the extra height, according to her, passion for couture and exquisite jewellery amongst an endless list of things, make her style.
Her style is undefinable: it’s classic mixed with goth, minimalist, high fashion, avant garde but ultimately, it is her style.
                                                          

I Heart Your Style is a fantastic new (well, new to me!) book I picked up in the DVF flagship store in Dubai at the weekend.

Amanda Brooks, who is Barney’s Fashion director, provides invaluable advice and inspiration through the most amazing selection of photographs of style icons through the years as well as her own tips and tales of do’s and dont’s!
Quintessential style icons like Jackie O and Bridget Bardot to Diana Ross and Diane von Furstenberg, all guide you through different looks from Classical to High Fashion to Boho.
